Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of acute care experience required.

  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Registered Nurse, Stem Cell ICU Nights

We are an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center ranked top 5 nationally for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. Our integrated model spans cancer care, research, academics, training, and philanthropy. Our growing system includes the Los Angeles campus, clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, and treatment centers in Atlanta, Chicago, and Phoenix.

Sign-on Bonus Eligible: $20,000

The successful candidate will:

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care for hematology/oncology, stem cell transplant, and ambulatory care patients.
  • Assist with special procedures.
  • Supervise care delivered by patient care technicians and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of procedures, treatments, and equipment.
  • Provide care for complex hematology/oncology, stem cell transplant, or critical care patients.
  • Care for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
  • Initiate and maintain complex IV therapies, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, and catheter care.
  • Utilize life-support modalities such as BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure monitors, and temperature monitors safely.
  • Care for autologous and allogeneic transplant patients, stem cell collection, and ECP patients.
  • Attend Code Blue and Rapid Response calls as required.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and notify physicians promptly.
  • Work scheduled hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of acute care experience.
  • Graduate of an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited School of Nursing; licensed in Illinois (IL).
  • OCN certification within 18 months of hire or 36 CE credits in oncology every three years, with 12 CE credits annually (Surgical Services exempt).
  • BLS certification maintained throughout employment.
  • ACLS certification obtained by the end of orientation and maintained.
  • Critical care or telemetry experience or competency within 6 months of hire.
  • Critical care courses completed within 12 months of hire if applicable.
  • Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification within 6-12 months of hire.
  • Oncology Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) course completion within 12 months of hire.
