Job summary

Amedisys, a leading home health and hospice provider, seeks a Registered Nurse for a per diem flex schedule in Alabama. Orientation pay ranges from $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, after which compensation converts to per-visit pay.

You will coordinate home care, develop care plans with the care team, educate families, perform assessments, monitor vitals, and manage medications and IV therapy. This role offers growth within a respected nationwide provider.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical RN experience or approval by VP Clinical if less than 1 year.
• Current RN license; must match the assigned state(s).
• Minimum six months of home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and age-specific needs.
• Comfort with general computer use and online HR/training tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborate with care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Perform head-to-toe physical assessments.
• Check vital signs and manage medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administer and maintain catheters.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervise LPNs and HHAs.
• Communicate patient progress to clinical manager and team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Attractive pay

$35.00 to $45.00 per hour for Orientation and will then convert to a per visit pay method.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year clinical experience as a RN, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.*
• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
