Job summary

Saint Thomas Surgicare in Nashville is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op/PACU care. The RN uses the nursing process to deliver safe, patient-family-centered care in perioperative services, performing thorough pre-admission assessments and coordinating with the care team.

The role requires an unrestricted RN license, an accredited nursing degree, and prior Pre-OP/PACU experience. BLS certification and ambulatory surgical center familiarity are preferred; no weekends, no call, and no holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have at least 1–3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with PAT/LPN experience; ambulatory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care using the nursing process and organizational policies.
• Conduct pre-admission assessments including medical history and testing.
• Support perioperative services and report to the Manager of Perioperative Services.
• Experience in Orthopedics, GI, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, and Urology is valued.

Registered Nurse Pre Op PACU PAT at Saint Thomas Surgicare

The RN Pre-op/PACU is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family-centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. Conduct thorough pre-admission assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing. The RN Pre-op/PACU supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN Pre-op/PACU reports to the Manager of Perioperative Services.

Experienced in supporting in the following specialties: Orthopedics, GI, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, and Urology.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with previous PAT, LPN experience.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
• Must have current BLS certification
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
