Job summary

South Texas Specialty Hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Full-Time RN for PreOp/PACU to provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of their condition.

You will assist physicians in the procedure rooms, handle conscious sedation and sterile technique as needed, and deliver comprehensive care for patients recovering from general anesthesia, with emphasis on safety and discharge preparation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients with continual evaluation of condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
• Deliver total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for discharge.

South Texas Specialty Hospital is hiring a Full-Time RN PreOp PACU

Welcome to South Texas Specialty Hospital

We have 25 Beds and 8 OR rooms and 3 ER Rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedic, Spine.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at South Texas Specialty Hospital

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
