St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Inpatient Rehab RN to support patients recovering from strokes, injuries, or surgeries requiring rehabilitation services. The role focuses on promoting independence and functional recovery.

You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm in a full-time capacity, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate preferred and obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct care to patients recovering from medical conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic surgeries, amputations, chronic diseases or other conditions.
• Monitor patients’ medical status and vital signs; administer medications, manage IVs, and provide wound care as needed.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and ADLs in coordination with therapists.
• Teach patients to use assistive devices like walkers or wheelchairs.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions home or to another setting.

We are seeking an Inpatient Rehab RN , sometimes referred to as an Physical Rehabilitation Registered Nurse or Physical Rehab RN . A Physical Rehabilitation Nurse in our hospital will specialize in caring for patients recovering from acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or surgeries that require rehabilitation services. These nurses help patients regain independence, improve their physical and functional abilities, and adapt to new health circumstances.

Responsibilities

• P rovide direct care to patients recovering from medical conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic surgeries, amputations, chronic diseases or other conditions
• M onitor patients’ medical status, vital signs, responses to rehabilitation therapies; along with administration of medications, manage IVs, and provide wound care as needed
• A ssist patients with exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and eating, in coordination with physical therapists and occupational therapists
• T each patients to use assistive devices, such as walkers, prosthetics, or wheelchairs
• E ducate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies
• P articipate in discharge planning, ensuring that patients are prepared for a safe transition to home or another care setting

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
