Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals in Bloomington, Indiana. The Pediatrics unit in the Women Services Center focuses on caring for children and some adults, with acuity ranging from low to high.

Qualified candidates will hold an ASN with a BSN preferred and an active RN license in Indiana or NLC, plus BLS certification.

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN required by unit; active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license
• BLS certification required; other ALS may be required per unit policies
• Experience in acute care settings preferred; strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Pediatrics unit within Women Services Center
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure safe, high‑quality care
• Educate patients and families and document care activities accurately

The Pediatrics unit is in our Women Services Center, attached to the Postpartum unit. This is a 6-10 bed unit dedicated to the patient population of children and some adults. The acuity level of the children will range from low to high, however, the adults will typically have a low acuity.

Qualifications:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
