Job Description
- Location: Indianapolis, IN
- Facility: Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent
- Department: Pediatric Acute Care
- Schedule: FT Nights
How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Clinical Care & Assessment: Monitor vital signs, perform clinical assessments, and manage pediatric care across 3rd and 4th floor units.
- Specialized Interventions: Administer medications, chemotherapy, biotherapy, central line care, NG tubes, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and phlebotomy.
- Family Communication: Explain care plans clearly to families and advocate for patient-centered pediatric care.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with specialists, physicians, and care teams; support rapid response and safety protocols.
- Care Coordination : Manage shift assignments, admissions, discharges, and patient workflow.
- Mentorship: Orient and precept new nursing staff and associates.
What minimum qualifications you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preference :
- Previous experience with pediatric patients
