Job summary

Incredible Health in New Brunswick, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PCU/Stepdown unit to care for medium to high acuity patients. You will administer medications, monitor vitals, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Shifts include day and night; roles available full-time, part-time, and per diem, with benefits such as 401(k) and tuition assistance. BiPAP/CPAP and other devices may be used, with EMR documentation and patient education

Qualifications

• ADN or higher in nursing is required.
• Active, unencumbered RN license is required.
• At least 1 year of stepdown/progressive, neuro, cardiac, or similar high acuity experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
• Strong hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills; EMR proficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for medium to high acuity patients, monitoring vitals and IV drips.
• Administer medications and execute complex treatment plans accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other clinicians to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and families on management of acute or chronic conditions and use of BiPAP/CPAP and home oxygen equipment.
• Maintain timely, accurate patient records in accordance with policies.

Nurses with experience in any of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Bariatric, BiPap monitoring, COVID, CVA, Cardiac Drip Management, DKA patients, High acuity patients, Post cardiac intervention, or Sheath pulls.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• 1 year experience in stepdown/progressive, neurology, cardiac, or another medium to high acuity setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and other advanced nursing care practices
• Proficient in electronic medical record systems

• Administer medications and implement complex treatment plans, ensuring that medical orders are carried out accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
• Educate patients and their families on the management of their acute or chronic conditions, including the proper use of equipment like BiPAP/CPAP/Home Oxygen and vital sign or blood sugar monitors
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and regulations

Salary: $70,920 to $117,990 /year
