Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting in Fredericksburg, VA. The RN will collaborate with the health care team, apply research, and provide total, continuous care following the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.

The role requires a valid Virginia RN license, 1 year of OR RN experience or enrollment in the perioperative pathway, and BLS CPR at hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN license.
• Minimum 1 year OR RN experience; perioperative pathway possible for Periop 101 applicants.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.
• BSN preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Coordinate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care to the health care team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence and participate in care improvement.
• Participate in performance and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff.
• Act as point of contact on hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily operational activities for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing/hospital policies.
