Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse to provide total, comprehensive, patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to improve care quality in the designated area.

The RN is responsible for directing nursing care, discharge planning, patient education, and participation in quality improvement. A Virginia RN license is required; BSN is preferred, and 2 years of recent acute care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is preferred; all Registered Nurses with an Associate's Degree in Nursing will be required to obtain their BSN within five years of hire.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• 2 years of recent RN acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel using the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve outcomes.
• Coordinate involvement of patient, family and health team, including teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with other health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care and participate in improvement of services.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
• Participate in orientation of new staff and serve as a liaison on policies and procedures.
