Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center seeks a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit. The RN will deliver hands-on patient care on a 15-bed unit with a trauma bed as needed, and operate on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (7a-7p and 7p-7a), including weekends and holidays.

The role emphasizes IV insertions, post-surgical care, telemetry, and collaboration with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers. MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement and OPERS retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• IV insertions and blood draws as needed, post-surgical care.
• Telemetry monitoring and patient safety oversight.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, providers and therapies to coordinate care.

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical

Primary skills utilized/learned:

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
