Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit. You will care for medical and post‑surgical patients in a 15-bed unit with one trauma bed, under rotating 12‑hour shifts (7a–7p/7p–7a) and rotating weekends/holidays.

Bi‑weekly hours total 72.00 with a sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 for qualifying experience. MetroHealth offers tuition reimbursement, certification incentives, and comprehensive benefits as a public employer in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current BLS certification at hire or within 90 days.
• Acute care or post‑surgical unit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in Medical/Post‑Surgical Unit.
• Monitor telemetry, vitals, and patient status.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, providers, PT/OT as needed.

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical
• Post-Surgical
• Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care
• Telemetry monitoring
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
