Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with four 10-hour day shifts and on-call requirements.

The PACU department requires a compassionate, skilled RN who adheres to Mercy's mission and patient-centered care standards. Incentives include up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus and bridging programs to advance from ASN to BSN and BSN to MSN.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in Missouri or compact licensure where duties are performed; license maintenance is the candidate's responsibility.
• BLS certification or eligibility within 30 days of hire; multiple unit-specific certifications may be required.
• Physical demands include lifting 50 pounds, standing/walking long shifts; ability to reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains accountability.
• Evaluates overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: Four 10-hr Day Shifts per week (with additional call one night a week and every 6th weekend with another nurse)

Candidates may be eligible for RN Incentives including:

• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus - No Contract Required

• ASN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).

• BSN to MSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your MSN (up to $16,000).

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience is preferred.

• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

• Licensure: Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining license. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:
  - ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  - ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  - CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
  - OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
  - BLS (Basic Life Support)
  - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  - PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
  - S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
  - C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
  - Other unit-specific certifications as required.

• Other: Physical requirements/demands:

  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
