Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This full-time role (4 x 10-hour day shifts) includes additional call requirements weekly and every sixth weekend with another nurse. Requirement: MO RN license (or compact), and a minimum of 1 year RN experience preferred. BLS required; ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC and other unit certifications may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience is preferred.
• Licensure: Current RN license within MO and/or compact licensure.
• Certifications: BLS required or obtained within 30 days; ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC/CPHON/OCN/BLS/PALS/PEARS/C-EFM or unit-specific certifications may be required.

(with additional call one night a week and every 6th weekend with another nurse)

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience is preferred.
• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining license. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:
• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.
• Other: Physical requirements/demands:
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
