Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Services in Fishers, IN seeks experienced PACU Registered Nurses for upcoming PRN and local contract opportunities at ambulatory surgery centers. You will provide post-anesthesia care, monitor recovery, and coordinate with anesthesia teams in a fast-paced ASC environment.

Minimum 2 years PACU experience, Indiana RN license, and current BLS/ACLS are required. Per diem or local contract roles vary by assignment, with day shifts available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of Indiana.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or post-anesthesia recovery experience.
• Ambulatory surgery center or outpatient surgical experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from sedation or general anesthesia in an ambulatory surgery setting.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, level of consciousness, and overall recovery status.
• Maintain a clear airway through positioning, suctioning, and oxygen therapy as needed.
• Assess and manage postoperative pain and anesthesia-related side effects.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments during the recovery process.
• Evaluate readiness for discharge and provide postoperative instructions to patients and family members.
• Communicate patient status and recovery progress with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and clinical staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
