Responsibilities include post-anesthesia care, monitoring vitals, maintaining airway, managing pain, documenting in the EHR, and coordinating with anesthesia and surgical teams. Active IN RN license and 2 years PACU experience required; BLS/ACLS certifications essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in Indiana.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience.
• Ambulatory surgery center/outpatient surgical experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from sedation or general anesthesia in an ambulatory surgery setting.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, and recovery status.
• Maintain airway and provide oxygen therapy as needed.
• Assess and manage postoperative pain and anesthesia-related side effects.
• Administer prescribed medications during recovery.
• Evaluate readiness for discharge and provide postoperative instructions.
• Document patient status and recovery in the EHR.
