Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Pensacola, FL, is seeking a skilled RN to join the Surgery team. The role covers scrub and circulating duties, assisting the operating physician, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures.

Rotating | PRN schedule. Requires Florida RN licensure and ACLS/BLS credentials. The job includes room preparation and equipment management, with benefits like a 403(b) plan and well-being support.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

One Or More Of The Following

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
