Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Pensacola, FL seeks an experienced RN to join the Surgery department on weekends. You will lead unit staffing, oversee OR care, and support daily patient assignments to meet high clinical standards.

The ideal candidate holds an active Florida RN license, BLS, and has OR leadership experience. We offer pro-rated PTO, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits.

• Active Florida RN license and BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of cumulative OR experience.
• Experience in coordinating staff and directing nursing and support staff.
• Ability to provide daily shift leadership to meet unit objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit staffing, assign and direct nursing and support staff, and manage daily patient care assignments tailored to specific population needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of OR patient care, monitor clinical outcomes, and resolve care complaints through established channels to maintain high standards of quality.
• Contribute to hiring, training, and performance evaluations while educating and monitoring team members during assigned shifts.
• Provide daily shift leadership to ensure unit clinical objectives are met and a high standard of patient care is delivered consistently.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
