Job summary

Ascension Saint John's Hospital in Saint Johns, FL seeks a skilled registered nurse to deliver surgical and perioperative care on the day shift.

You will assist surgeons, manage sterile instruments, prepare operating rooms, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits within a nonprofit health system.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire date.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• RN credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions by preparing, selecting, and handling sterile surgical instruments.
• Execute circulating duties by monitoring patient condition and managing overall care before, during, and after procedures.
• Directly assist surgeons with positioning, hemostats, suturing, and wound exposure.
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
