Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Destin, FL invites a Registered Nurse to join the Med Surg team on the Night shift. You will deliver direct nursing care, implement orders, and coordinate with a preceptor and interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, continuous observation, and active participation in transition-to-practice activities to strengthen clinical judgment and safe practice standards. Florida RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Florida RN license required prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with policies and preceptor orders.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans and document changes.
• Assess patients and share critical information with the interdisciplinary team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver direct nursing care in accordance with healthcare policies and in close collaboration with a preceptor, assisting with the implementation and documentation of physician and nursing orders.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, continuously observing, recording, and communicating changes in patient condition and health needs to the preceptor and interdisciplinary team.
• Serve as an active team member by assisting with patient health assessments and sharing pertinent clinical information across disciplines to support seamless care delivery.
• Actively participate in all transition-to-practice program activities, coursework, and preceptorships to enhance clinical judgment, decision-making, and safe practice standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date registered. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

• Licensed as an RN for one year or less
