Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Day shift, Full-Time Scrub Nurse. You will perform scrub and circulating functions, assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, and prepare operating rooms and instruments for procedures.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse with FL Board of Nursing.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
• Neurosurgery experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Perform circulating duties: monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
  transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of
  hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 1 year of experience in Neurosurgery
