Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to support the Cardiovascular Surgery team on the day shift.

You will ensure sterile field, prepare instruments, assist surgeons, and help manage patient transport and intraoperative hemostasis, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire, accepted by AHA or Red Cross.
• NBSTSA or NCCT Surgical Tech credential before hire date.
• High School diploma or equivalent; 2-year or 4-year related degree/experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive surgical efficiency with safe, fluid workflows in multiple procedures.
• Set sterile and non-sterile suite prep standards and supply management.
• Anticipate surgeon needs by delivering instruments and supplies quickly.
• Maintain sterile field and conduct precise instrument counts for patient safety.
• Provide clinical support during transport, draping, and intraoperative hemostasis.

• Prioritize patient safety by managing the sterile field and conducting precise instrument counts.
• Provide essential clinical support during patient transport, draping, and intraoperative hemostasis.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• 1 year of Cardiovascular surgery experience
