Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse to provide care to client employees at our Stratford, CT Health Center. The position also supports the Bridgeport Health Center, with Wednesdays 8:30a–5:00p; additional hours may be scheduled at Stratford.

You will perform OSHA-regulated evaluations, deliver evidence-based nursing care, coordinate case management, and promote health in the workplace while maintaining health records and participating in safety programs.

Qualifications

• Three years’ RN experience in occupational health, emergency or ambulatory care.
• Current RN licensure in state of practice required.
• Certification in Occupational Health or Case Management preferred and may be required at some sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance and manage required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC).
• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within scope of practice.
• Deliver evidence-based care to injured workers and coordinate case management with TPA and client.
• Implement transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Perform and document medical tests and screenings (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Administer medications and emergency care within scope.
• Maintain equipment and infection control procedures.
• Maintain accurate health records and educate patients on health promotion.

As a Part Time Registered Nurse, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Stratford, CT. The scheduled hours are16 hours per week.
This position also supports our Bridgeport Health Center, where you will work Wednesdays from 8:30a - 5:00p. Additional scheduled hours will be worked at our Stratford location.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $32.80 - $41.00 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
