Job summary

Premise Health in Ridgefield, CT seeks a PRN Registered Nurse in Occupational Health to provide patient-centered care at our onsite Health Center. You’ll support injury care, health screenings, and wellness programs in a professional, employee-focused environment with daytime hours (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM).

The role requires an RN license, ADN or BSN preferred, and BLS certification; three years’ occupational health or ambulatory care experience is desired.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in state of practice
• COHN/COHN-S preferred for some sites
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required
• At least three years’ RN experience in occupational health/ambulatory care
• Experience promoting safe, healthy workplaces and return-to-work exams

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance for clinical operations and manage required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC)
• Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within scope
• Deliver care to injured workers, coordinate case management with TPA and client
• Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Perform and document medical tests and screenings (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administer medications and emergency care within scope
• Maintain medical equipment, ensure a clean environment, and follow infection control procedures
• Maintain patient health records and ensure accuracy
• Educate patients on health promotion and participate in follow-up care
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on health programs and injury prevention
• Assist with accident investigations and return-to-work programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

As a PRN Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care to client employees in our onsite Health Center located in Ridgefield, CT. In this flexible PRN role, you'll work alongside a collaborative clinical team to deliver occupational health services, injury care, wellness support, and health screenings in a professional, employee-focused environment. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering daytime hours with no nights, weekends, or major holidays.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
• Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
• Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
• Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
• Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
• Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
• Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
• Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
• Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
• Current certification with hands‑on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
• At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
• Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $50.00 - $52.00 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
