Job summary

University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital is seeking a NICU IMC RN to provide specialized neonatal care on a night shift. The role includes 60 hours over two weeks with a twelve-hour schedule and every third weekend in a Level II/III NICU/IMC unit (25 beds).

You will monitor and care for critically ill premature infants and assist families throughout care. Required MN RN license and BLS; NICU capstone/internship experience is essential.

Qualifications

• NICU capstone/internship experience required.
• MN RN License required.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP certification within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to critically ill premature neonates and neonatal patients needing close observation.
• Perform advanced monitoring using current technology (cardio-respiratory, defibrillator, Varitrend).
• Care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on the unit.

We are a designated March of Dimes NICU Family Support® program and have a Neuro NICU for babies with neurologic conditions.

NICU Department

• Level IV NICU (highest level of care for neonates)
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioners on Staff 24/7.
• 74 beds

NICU- Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)

• Level II and III
• 25 beds
• Caring for premature babies 33 weeks and above.
• Offer a variety of respiratory modalities; Conventional Ventilator, Stable Trachs, and HFNC.
• 1-3 patients per RN depending on stability of the baby

This position will be working 60 hours every two weeks on the night shift,12-hour shifts, every third weekend.

Required

• NICU capstone/internship experience required
• MN RN License
• BLS

Preferred

• BSN or BAN
• Certification in related specialty.
• 1 year NICU experience

Additional Requirements

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire
