Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Neuroscience Center 6 West at MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick. The role focuses on advanced neurological patient care, including ICU-level monitoring and stroke-specific protocols.

Responsibilities include neurological assessments, ICP monitoring, complex medication titration, and collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Ohio RN licensure and BLS HCP are required, with Magnet-certified preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments.
• Monitor ICP and manage associated devices.
• Titrate medications and adjust care plans as needed.
• Manage surgical drains, ventilators, body temperature, and CRRT as ordered.
• Provide neurological patient care and participate in stroke care protocols.
• Telemetry monitoring and timely clinical decision making.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:
