MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neuroscience Center, 6 West, on a rotating shift in the MetroHealth Main Campus. The role focuses on detailed neurological assessments, ICP monitoring, medication titration, and managing critical care equipment in a 24-bed unit.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Ohio RN licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers or within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a Neuro ICU/Stroke care setting.

Mansioni

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitor neurological status.
• Oversee ICP monitoring and manage critical care equipment.
• Titrat e medications and adjust treatment plans as ordered.
• Care for patients with drains, mechanical ventilation, hypothermia protocols, and CRRT.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and rapid response to neurologic changes.
• Maintain time management, critical thinking, and delegation within the team.
• Monitor seizure activity and provide seizure care as needed.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring


• Medication titration


• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT


• Neurological patient care; NIHSS Certification for Stroke care


• Telemetry monitoring


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating


• Seizure disorder monitoring/ care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary

Number of beds on unit:

• 24 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

• BSN


• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
