Job summary

MetroHealth in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Neuro/ICU care in a rotating shift at the Main Campus (Glick). The role involves comprehensive neurological assessments, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management, with NIHSS certification required or obtainable.

Rotating weekends and holidays and bi-weekly 72-hour schedules apply. Qualifications include Ohio RN licensure and a BSN preferred; the unit offers tuition reimbursement and strong professional development incentives within

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments and monitoring.
• Conduct ICP monitoring and manage critical neurological parameters.
• Titrate medications and manage clinical interventions.
• Manage surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, and CRRT.
• Provide specialized neurological patient care and NIHSS stroke assessment.
• Coordinate telemetry monitoring and respond to patient status changes.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and delegation skills.
• Monitor seizure activity and provide appropriate care.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Adult


• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes


• Status Epilepticus


• Encephalitis


• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)


• Intracranial Hemorrhage


• Stroke


• Minor Neurological Disorders

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Detailed Neurological assessments


• ICP Monitoring

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, Respiratory Therapy, Social Work, Speech Therapy, PT, OT, Dietary
