Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect care on the MG3 unit. The 26-bed tele-monitored unit operates with 5:1–6:1 patient ratios, night shift from 7pm to 7:30am.

The RN must hold a BSN, PA RN license, and AHA BLS certification. Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, care planning, and collaboration with the care team while ensuring infection control standards.

Qualifications

• BSN and PA RN license required.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Experience in a hospital nursing role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and incorporate education into daily care.
• Document admissions, reassessments, plans, and medications.
• Utilize the information system to communicate patient changes.
• Coordinate transfers and participate in interprofessional rounds.
• Identify special needs and provide individualized care.
• Include pain management and supportive care in the plan.

Position Purpose The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview Tele monitored patients - isolation, suicidal, behavioral patients. 5:1-6:1 ratio. Unit has 26 beds, all private rooms.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.


• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.


• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.


• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds


• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral


• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.


• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN required from an accredited school of nursing.


• PA RN License


• AHA BLS
