Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG1 Step Down Unit. This full-time, night-shift role (7pm–7:30am) includes weekend work and direct patient care with a 3:1 to 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, care coordination, and pain management, in a trauma/bariatric/stroke capable unit. PA RN license and BLS required; BSN preferred with 1 year bedside experience.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred from an accredited school.
• PA RN License required.
• AHA BLS certification.
• 1 year bedside experience required.

Responsabilités

• Assess learning needs and barriers, incorporating patient education into care.
• Document admission assessments, plans, interventions and meds per policy.
• Utilize the information system to communicate changes and prioritize assignments.
• Communicate transfer of responsibility during rounds and bedside handoffs.
• Identify patient needs and apply pain management and supportive care in the plan.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - trauma, bariatric, stroke, critical care patients. Unit operates a 3:1-4:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unite has private room and approximately 26 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License
• AHA BLS
• 1 year of bedside experience required.
