St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG1 Step Down Unit. The role supports a 12-hour day shift with weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include bedside care, patient education, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the care team. A BSN and PA RN license are required, along with BLS certification and at least one year of bedside experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License is required.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of bedside nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and address barriers to learning, incorporating education into care.
• Document admission assessments, plans, interventions, and medication use with outcomes.
• Utilize information management systems to enhance communication and document patient status changes.
• Communicate patient transfers and pertinent information during rounds.
• Recognize special patient needs and provide individualized care.
• Include pain management and supportive care in the plan of care.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - trauma, bariatric, stroke, critical care patients. Unit operates a 3:1-4:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unite has private room and approximately 26 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN required, from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License
• AHA BLS
