Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic's St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG1 Step Down Unit on a 12-hour night shift. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, document assessments, and participate in interprofessional rounds.

The unit handles tele-monitored trauma, bariatric, stroke patients with a 3:1-4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. BSN preferred, PA RN license, ACLS/BLS, and at least 1 year bedside experience.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License and BLS/ACLS (AHA) certification required.
• 1 year of bedside nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and tailor patient education to age, culture, and values.
• Document admission assessments, reassessments, plans, interventions and medications.
• Utilize the information system to document changes and communicate with the team.
• Communicate transfers and pertinent information during rounds with the care team.
• Recognize patient needs and integrate care with abuse recognition and referral.
• Include pain management and infection control in the care plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift: Night Shift (7pm-7:30am), weekends

Location: St. Mary Medical Center

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - trauma, bariatric, stroke, critical care patients. Unit operates a 3:1-4:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unite has private room and approximately 26 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License
• AHA BLS
• 1 year of bedside experience required.
