NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg on the 2 South unit. The role involves executing professional nursing care per physician plans to support patient and family well-being.

The position requires nursing theory knowledge, NYS RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable, and strong collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Night shift, full-time, with alternate weekend work, and opportunities for professional growth are offered.

Formación

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice earned through completion of a two year training at an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS certification and de-escalation training.
• ACLS (ICU, Float pool, Emergency Dept).
• TCAR Certification (SICU, PACU).
• For Emergency Dept: PALS, TNCC (within first year).
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients and families and to demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Responsabilidades

• collects patient health data with involvement of patient, family and health care providers.
• Performs initial assessment based on patient presentation.
• Records relevant data on nursing components of Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrates awareness of age, culture, and disability needs.
• Performs ongoing assessments per policy and patient response.
• Incorporates discharge planning into admission process.
• Develops a plan of care and prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Collaborates with patient, family and health care providers in planning care.
• Delivers patient care while maintaining safety and ethical standards.
• Documents plan of care and updates as required.
• Maintains effective interactions with staff and participates in professional development.
