Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Medical/Surgical team at Winter Haven Hospital for the Night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM).

As an RN on the Med/Surg unit, you will provide comprehensive nursing care, collaborate with physicians and care teams, participate in discharge planning, and contribute to ongoing education to uphold BayCare's clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Minimum 6 months of RN acute care experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a hospital-based medical/surgical setting.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment and discharge planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding care goals and treatment plans.
• Prioritize and organize patient care activities while adapting to changing clinical needs.
• Identify potential patient safety risks related to diagnoses, medications, procedures, and age-specific considerations.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to support team members.
• Maintain professional accountability through ongoing education, competency development, and adherence to clinical standards.
