Job summary

Stoughton Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical–Surgical team on a Full-time basis. The RN will provide professional nursing care in assigned units, maintaining accountability for practice and guiding other staff as needed.

The role supports collaboration with patients and families, integrates research into care, and requires BLS/ACLS with NIH Stroke Scale training within specified timelines. In-person, night shifts with weekend/holiday rotation are included.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin in good standing.
• Current BLS certification at hire; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certificates within 90 days.
• Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years.
• One year relevant nursing experience or supervisory recommendation.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Will demonstrate current BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Job Summary

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Medical–Surgical team on a Full-time basis.

The registered nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in assigned units. The RN maintains accountability for their own practice and delegates/provides direction to other nursing personnel in the unit in accordance with their level of experience and expertise.

Essential Functions

• Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, and evaluation
• Effectively enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices
• Maintains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practices
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrates research findings into clinical practice

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Registered Nursing
• Registered as a licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of Wisconsin
• Current BLS certification at hire; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 90 days of hire
• Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar
• One year relevant nursing experience or supervisory recommendation
• Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Will demonstrate current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within 6 months of hire

Computer Competency

Basic computer skills are expected. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including creating, editing, and formatting documents.

Work Shift

Full-time, .75 full-time equivalent, 24–36 hours per week. Variable shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) every third weekend or holiday.
