Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX seeks a Lead Nurse Manager to oversee operations, workflows, and nursing resources for optimal patient care across assigned units.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive clinical quality, and lead staff recruitment, development, and evaluation to maintain high standards of care. The role emphasizes budget oversight and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• 3 years of experience, with 1 year in leadership or management.
• 3+ years OR RN leadership experience preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead Nurse Manager operations, workflows, and nursing resources to support efficient patient care delivery across assigned nursing units.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, strengthening patient safety, clinical quality, and consistent standards across assigned nursing units.
• Direct staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation to build capable nursing teams and maintain high-quality patient care services.
• Coordinate resolution of patient care issues, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Monitor nursing unit budgets, approving expenditures and purchases to maintain financial compliance while supporting safe, effective patient care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.

Work Experience

• 3 years of experience required.
• 1 year of leadership or management experience required.
