Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation & Nursing in Bloomington, IN, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants. You will ensure care meets federal, state, and local standards and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain high-quality care.

You will direct daily nursing activities, plan shift services, document care, admit/discharge residents, administer medications, and uphold patient safety and privacy throughout your unit.

Qualifications

• RN license required and active in good standing.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Plan shift services and activities with staff and support personnel.
• Prepare and file reports and recommendations as required.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as needed.
• Provide leadership to nursing staff on your unit/shift.
• Document admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Transcribe orders from physicians and document on forms.
• Administer medications as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Ensure privacy and safety in nursing care.
• Participate in rounds with physicians as required.
• Provide IV care and other procedures as needed.
