Job summary

Northwell is seeking a registered nurse to provide age-specific care using the nursing process. The role involves collaboration with physicians and the health team to coordinate procedures and treatments, and to lead and delegate activities on the patient care unit.

The nurse will conduct interviews, assess multiple health domains, document care plans, and support discharge planning. NY RN licensure is required, with BSN preferred and a plan to obtain BSN within five years.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NY State RN license required; BSN degree preferred and must be obtained within five years of entry.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-specific plan of care using the nursing process.
• Collaborates with physicians and health team members to coordinate procedures and treatments.
• Leads and delegates patient care on the unit, directing team members as appropriate.
• Conducts patient interviews, reviews charts, assesses health status in GI, cardio, respiratory, renal and neuro systems.
• Documents patient health data and plan of care clearly and accurately.
• Assesses psychosocial and educational needs; identifies outcomes and plans for teaching.
