Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves night shifts (7P-7A), a 36-hour work week, and weekend/holiday rotation.

Prior L&D or women’s health experience is preferred, with licensure in the appropriate state required. The unit features 21 labor rooms, OB ED and 2 operating rooms, with a focus on safe, compassionate maternal care.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and immediate recovery.
• Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor using approved monitoring equipment and nursing assessment technique.
• Recognize and respond to changes in maternal and fetal conditions, escalating concerns to providers as needed.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Assist providers during vaginal and caesarean deliveries and stabilize mother and newborn after birth.

What We Offer

• Schedule: 7P-7A, Night Shift, Full-time (36 hours), weekend & holiday rotation required. This will be discussed further during interview. Two call shifts required per 6 week time tract.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, immediate recovery

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
