Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale is seeking a dedicated RN for Intake/Assessment in Behavioral Health. This full-time role (3x12, day shift) focuses on initial response, assessment, care referrals, and appropriate level-of-care decisions in a compassionate setting.

Applicants must hold an Arizona RN license (or compact with AZ endorsement) and an associate degree in nursing. BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Strong teamwork and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact license with Arizona endorsement.
• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including initial assessment, referrals, and care level designation.
• Conducts initial evaluation, documents symptoms and needs, and informs MD for LOC determination.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers.
• Maintains preadmission and admission paperwork and completes pre-certification with insurers.
• Monitors patient condition and notifies physician as needed.
• Follows hospital policy for medication administration.
• Interacts with patients with empathy, dignity and respect.

How you'll contribute

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, the referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.
• Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
• Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
• Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.
• Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
• RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
• RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Arizona State License or Compact License with Arizona endorsement.
• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
