Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale is seeking a Nurse Manager RN for its Behavioral Health unit in Avondale, AZ. This role is full-time with a 5x8 days schedule (8a-5p) and will require clinical leadership, budgeting, and staff management to support high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates hold an Arizona RN license, a BSN or ADN with BSN enrollment, and a minimum of 3 years in medical-surgical nursing with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. BLS certification is required.

• Current state RN license (Arizona)
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or active enrollment in BSN program
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 3 years of med-surg nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing departmental goals aligned with organizational strategy.
• Manage staff relations, scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and staff development.
• Monitor budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations.
• Coordinate patient care services with patients, staff, physicians and other departments; provide patient care if needed.
• Foster professional growth and integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Nurse Manager RNwho excels in this role:

• Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.

• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.

• Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.

• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school or an associate's degree with current enrollment in a bachelor's program for nursing. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• Experience: Three years of experience in all aspects of medical surgical nursing and a minimum of two years supervisory experience.

• Licenses: Must have a current Arizona or compact multi-state RN license.

• Education: BSN or ADN with current enrollment in a BSN program required.
