Job summary

Copper Springs Avondale is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Intake/Assessment in a full-time, nights role at our Avondale, AZ facility. You will engage admissions, complete initial assessments, coordinate care, and collaborate with the MD to determine level of care.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license is required.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• BLS is required; ACLS and PALS are preferred.
• Arizona license or compact license with AZ endorsement.
• Excellent customer service and empathetic patient care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to service requests including initial response and admission.
• Conducts initial evaluation and documents symptoms and needs.
• Maintains preadmission and admission paperwork and pre-certification with insurers.
• Monitor patient condition and notify physician as needed.
• Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
• Provide empathetic, dignified interactions with patients.

How You'll Contribute

An Intake/Assessment (RN) who excels in this role:

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, the referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.
• Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
• Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
• Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies.
• Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician.
• RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.
• RN will consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.

Requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Arizona State License or Compact License with Arizona endorsement.
