Job summary

Pavilion Healthcare in Ottawa, IL seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN assumes responsibility for a group of residents during a shift, providing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.

Requirements include an active RN license in Illinois, CPR certification, and a nursing degree or diploma. Prior long-term care experience is a plus. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification required.
• Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area (nurse station, medication cart, medication room) is clean and sanitary.
• Directs and supervises day-to-day CNA services to ensure care is rendered per current standards.
• Administers blood pressure and vital signs, catheter care, IV therapy within license, respiratory care as ordered.
• Transcribes physician orders to charts, MAR, care plans as required.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered.
• Documents nursing notes reflecting care provided and patient response.
• Counts controlled drugs with nurse at shift change; reports discrepancies.
• Maintains safe environment and addresses safety risks.
• Makes written and oral shift reports/recommendations.
• Admits, transfers and/or discharges residents as needed; maintains safety of all.
• All other duties as assigned.
