Job summary

Pavilion Ottawa is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN assumes responsibility for a group of residents each shift, providing care through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

You will lead and support CNAs, document thoroughly, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining a safe environment. We offer full-time hours, competitive compensation, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification required.
• Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
• Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Long-Term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is maintained clean and sanitary.
• Directs and supervises daily certified nursing assistant services for the unit.
• Takes and records residents' blood pressure and vital signs; administers catheter care and IV therapy as ordered.
• Receives and transcribes physician orders to resident charts and MAR.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered.
• Charts nurses notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Counts controlled drugs with the other nurse at shift change; reports discrepancies.
• Maintains resident safety and addresses hazards.
• Makes written and oral reports/recommendations on shift activities.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents as needed to meet individual needs.
