Job summary

Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, part of LifeBridge Health, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct clinical patient care on the Intermediate Care Unit, a 36-bed ICU step-down caring for stable and critically ill adults requiring close monitoring.

Under the direction of the unit manager, you will assess, plan, and implement age-appropriate care, perform hourly rounding, and coordinate discharge planning, contributing to a fast-paced critical care environment.

Qualifications

• RN education: ADN/BSN/MSN as applicable
• Current Maryland RN license or eligibility
• Basic Life Support certification

About the Role: Under the direction of the unit manager, the Registered Nurse at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level.

Unit Highlights:

Sinai Hospital's Intermediate Care Unit is a 36-bed ICU step-down unit caring for stable, critically ill adult patients who need close monitoring and frequent intervention. Each private room is equipped with full hemodynamic monitoring, and the unit's broad case mix spans neurologic, respiratory, cardiac, renal, and other complex conditions, giving nurses wide exposure in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately evaluates assigned patient and documents clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritizing patient/family needs into plan of care.
• Assesses and documents patient/family educational needs: to aid in informed decision making about healthcare treatment and to provide a successful transfer within the healthcare environment; coordinates with peers to establish educational resources as needed.
• Performs hourly rounding. Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Less than one year
• Education: Associate degree in nursing and/or Bachelor of Science in Nursing and/or Master of Science in Nursing
• Licenses And Certification: Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license
• Basic Life Support Certification
