Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license.
• CPR/BLS card on file.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• ICU/PCU/Stepdown certifications listed in qualifications.
• TNCC/TNCS or ECRN requirements may apply within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individual care plan with the healthcare team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health.
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development to support safety and quality.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed staff.
• Advocate for patients by collaborating with other health professionals.
• Ensure ongoing education, competencies, and licensure; float to other SIH units when competent.
