Job summary

Southern Illinois Medical Services NFP is hiring for a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care to SIH patients on site. The role requires an RN license in Illinois, current CPR/BLS, and ICU/PCU/Stepdown and related certifications.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes compassionate patient support, health teaching, and timely documentation, with opportunities to float to related units as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor's degree or Master's in Nursing
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• ICU/PCU/Stepdown and Cardiac specialty certifications listed in the licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote and maintain the optimum health level of patients
• Demonstrate clinical judgment with critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records
• Contribute to policy and procedure development to support patient safety and quality of care
• Supervision and delegation of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistive personnel
• Advocate for the patient by communicating with other health professionals
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
