Job summary

Ascension Providence in Waco, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse Fellow for an ICU transition program. It is a full-time night shift role with start dates January 19, 2027 and February 15, 2027.

The program supports nurses moving into critical care, offering hands-on patient care, documentation duties, and collaboration with the ICU team as you develop clinical judgment and safe, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• RN credential from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care including observation and documentation of patient healthcare needs and communication of pertinent information to the registered nurse and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Communicate, monitor and record changes in patient condition as appropriate.
• Participate in transition to practice programs in order to develop clinical thinking and enhanced clinical judgment to provide safe, competent, person-centered care.

The Registered Nurse Fellowship program is specifically designed for nurses with more than one year of experience seeking to transition into a different specialty.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
