Job summary

Ascension in Mequon, WI is seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse for night shift, full-time. You will provide direct patient care in the ICU, document patient progress, and coordinate across disciplines to ensure continuity of care.

You will manage physician and nursing orders, collaborate on discharge planning, and support a safe transition home for patients while maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to protocols.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire or transfer date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Registered Nurse credential with Wisconsin Board of Nursing or multi-state license.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care following protocols and best practices.
• Document progress and execute physician and nursing orders; communicate status to the team.
• Coordinate care across clinical disciplines; act as liaison for seamless patient services.
• Facilitate discharge planning with the care team for safe, smooth transitions home.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care that strictly adheres to established organizational protocols and best practices.
• Manage the entire patient care journey, meticulously documenting progress, executing physician and nursing orders promptly, and communicating critical status updates to the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate care across all clinical disciplines, acting as the primary liaison to guarantee seamless and well-integrated patient services and ensure optimal care outcomes.
• Facilitate comprehensive discharge planning by assessing patient needs and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful transition home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi‑state/Compact State.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
