Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center is seeking an RN in Connecticut to provide direct nursing care per policy and participate in multidisciplinary rounds. The role emphasizes cardiology knowledge, critical thinking, and thorough patient assessment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cardiology.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their level of education and expertise.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
